Celebrate America’s rich heritage with the Bedford flag, a banner that represents the deep roots of militia service and the central role local communities played as the colonies moved toward independence.
Crafted with care from premium nylon, the Bedford flag is designed to maintain vibrant color and durability during extended outdoor display. It is lightweight to fly easily in light breezes. The printed design provides crisp detail, while a heavy-duty canvas heading with 2 solid brass grommets ensures secure attachment to standard flagpoles. The flag is constructed from a single layer of fabric, so the design is visible on both sides, with the front reading correctly and the reverse reading backward.
100% Made in the USA, this commemorative flag reflects the American craftsmanship and attention to detail our family-run business is proud to stand behind.
History & Significance
The flag is closely associated with Bedford, Massachusetts, and it is believed to have been made for a local militia cavalry troop. According to long-standing local tradition, it was carried by Nathaniel Page of the Bedford Minutemen on April 19, 1775, the day the fighting began at Lexington and Concord.
The flag also holds an official role in the present. While the original is on permanent display at the Bedford Public Library, a historic representation serves as the official town flag, reinforcing its continued civic significance more than two centuries after its creation.
