We live in an area where we have wind constantly, and sometimes very strong wind. Short of getting a $500 commercial pole, I was told this one would hold up - up to 120 mph winds - and ours is usually not over 90 mph.
We have 3 flags on it, a 3x5 American flag and 2- 2x3 flags, Gadsden and POW/MIA. With the 3 flags it does bend the pole a bit when the wind is blowing, and so we do not have the pole extended to it's full height and this is Spring/Summer - and this time of year the wind is not too bad.
The instructions say to dig a hold 24-36 inches in diameter, and 2' deep. My hubby followed directions and we had to use 9-80 lb bags of concrete to fill that hole. Well, at least the wind will not blow it out of the ground.
Anyway, I am a little concerned that a higher wind could snap the pole, and we may have to remove one of the flags if the wind gets too strong, but if the pole does not snap, I'll revise my rating to 5 stars.
