On the inside and at the top of the sleeve of the flag, there is a tab with a slit. Starting at the bottom of the flag, slide the Oak pole up through the sleeve and fit the slit in the tab over the screw at the top of the flagpole. The flag will hang from that screw and will not need to be secured at the bottom. The cord and tassel will be strung through the circle hanger above the top of the flag.
